Fantasy women’s basketball – Candace Parker makes history

[ad_1]

Who is trending up in fantasy women’s basketball? Which rotations are changing? What’s the latest with the notable injuries around the WNBA?

Here’s a look around the league at the most fantasy-relevant news and notes for all 12 teams.

Atlanta Dream

Aari McDonald, who’s available in 64.2% of leagues, is one of the few viable streaming options on a Dream team that ranks last in offensive rating (94.3). She has averaged 19.4 fantasy points in the past five games. Don’t overlook McDonald if you need to add a player or fill a roster spot on a given day.

Chicago Sky

On Tuesday night against the Dream, Candace Parker, at 36 years and 84 days old, became the oldest player to score 30 points and collect 10 rebounds in a game in WNBA history. It was her 11th career game with 30 points and 10 rebounds, which is third most in league history behind Tina Charles (15) and Lauren Jackson (13). For the season, Parker ranks 10th in fantasy points.

Connecticut Sun

With a 104.0 offensive rating and a 96.5 defensive rating, the Sun rank third and fourth in the league, respectively. With Jasmine Thomas‘ season-ending ACL injury, Natisha Hiedeman continues to be the best streaming option for Connecticut. She’s available in 86% of leagues and has averaged 17.9 fantasy points per game.

Dallas Wings

Teaira McCowan has now scored in double figures in four of her past six games. During that time period, she has averaged 20.5 minutes per game and 24.5 fantasy points. McCowan is still available in 34.7% of leagues for a Wings team that ranks fifth in offensive rating (101.9).

Indiana Fever

Queen Egbo is in the COVID-19 protocols but should return soon. She has averaged 20.3 fantasy points per game and is still available in 46.9% of leagues. Egbo is one of the few bright spots for a Fever team that ranks 11th in offensive rating (95.6) and 12th in defensive rating (107.8).

Las Vegas Aces

There has been a fantasy basketball bonanza with the Aces this season. A’ja Wilson recorded her 50th career double-double Tuesday night against the Liberty. Only Sylvia Fowles has more since she entered the league in 2018. In addition, Kelsey Plum scored 20 points for the 11th time this season. The only players with more in 2022 are Kelsey Mitchell and Arike Ogunbowale. Also, Plum has a triple in 30 straight games, the longest streak in the league. Keep starting Aces players.

Los Angeles Sparks

It was Chiney Ogwumike‘s third double-double of the season against the Mystics on Tuesday night. Two of them have occurred in the past three games. Ogwumike is available in 89% of leagues. Chiney’s sister Nneka Ogwumike was inactive Tuesday because of a non-COVID illness. Chiney should see additional minutes in her absence.

Minnesota Lynx

I am still surprised to find Moriah Jefferson available in 40.1% of leagues. It’s great to see her career renaissance in Minnesota after she was waived by the Wings earlier this year. Jefferson is averaging 28.2 minutes and 24.4 fantasy points per game. Now would be a good time to add her to your roster.

New York Liberty

Tuesday night against the Aces, Sabrina Ionescu had her seventh game with 25 points and five assists this season. This is the fourth most in a season in league history. Diana Taurasi holds the record for having the most. Ionescu has now scored 43 or more fantasy points in four of her past five games. For those in need of a streamer, look no further than Stefanie Dolson, who’s available in 76.8% of leagues. She has averaged 19.4 fantasy points per game over her past five games.

Phoenix Mercury

Sophie Cunningham delivered on my recommendation in Tuesday’s betting column. She had 36 points and five steals against the Lynx. Cunningham joins Maya Moore (2014) and Cynthia Cooper (1997) as the only players in league history to score 35 points and collect five steals in a game. She is available in 71.5% of leagues.

Seattle Storm

The Storm have scored 80 points or more in three consecutive games, the longest streak of the season. Seattle is 12-1 when scoring 80 points or more this season. It’s worth considering streaming Gabby Williams, who’s available in 67% of leagues. Four of her past five games have seen her score 19 or more fantasy points.

Washington Mystics

Natasha Cloud is enjoying a fantastic season. The fact that she wasn’t named an All-Star was shocking. In spite of Cloud’s fluctuating scoring, she consistently contributes in other statistical areas such as assists, in which she leads the league with 7.2 APG. Over the past six games, she has averaged 27.8 fantasy points. While Elena Delle Donne receives so much defensive attention, Cloud should have a strong finish to the season.
