At this point, the Kardashians are such a persistent presence in online discourse that it’s increasingly difficult to distinguish their everyday lives from what they choose to present on TV. What’s personal and what’s branding? What’s a simple Instagram post and what’s fodder for a subplot? Aren’t we all just clinking cogs in the massive PR machine that is the Kardashian family? Maybe so, but either way, the aforementioned powerhouse seems eager to churn out content—and that includes another season of Hulu’s The Kardashians. (And if you, too, experienced a begrudging flutter of glee when Pete Davidson appeared—by voice, anyway—in the first season’s finale, well, you’re in luck.)
Spoiler alert: Hulu ended the first season with a dramatic finale, in which Khloé Kardashian receives the news—from her sister, Kim, no less—that her on-again, off-again partner, Tristan Thompson, has cheated on her yet again and fathered a child with another woman. Meanwhile, her mother, Kris, is busy recording a rendition of “Jingle Bells” with Travis Barker, Kourtney Kardashian’s then-fiancé (and now husband). But the Christmas cheer only lasts long enough for Kris to receive an ominous call on her phone. Psyche! A millennial pink “To Be Continued…” title card flashes onto the screen. We’re already waiting with bated breath.
Below, everything we know about the show’s inevitable return.
Will The Kardashians come back for a second season?
All signs point to yes. Variety reported back in March 2022 that Hulu would be “launching” two seasons of the new reality series. (Also, Kim posted a sneak peek of season 2 on her Instagram Stories, which basically amounts to a confirmation of the next season’s imminent arrival.) Hulu has yet to officially announce a return date for The Kardashians, but at this point, it’s only a matter of time.
When will season 2 arrive?
Part of why the Kardashian family moved their reality series over to Hulu was because the streamer was able to offer them a quicker turnaround time. That’s encouraging for fans, who can expect a speedier season 2—especially since we know the episodes are already in production.
What will season 2 feature?
Travis and Kourtney’s wedding(s), almost certainly. The Kardashians showrunner confirmed to Distractify that cameras were present at their Vegas not-wedding, but it’s also likely there will be footage from the couple’s much fancier, Dolce & Gabbana-supported Italian bash.
We also anticipate clips of Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott’s new baby—maybe even a name announcement—and the drama around Kim’s Met Gala dress.
Who will make an appearance?
You can expect the usual cast of characters, including Kim, Kris, Khloé, Kourtney, Travis, Kendall Jenner, Kylie Jenner, Scott Disick, their many children, etc. But the big question mark remains over Pete, Kim’s now “super serious” boyfriend, who appears only as a disembodied voice in the season 1 finale. Now that he’s officially leaving Saturday Night Live, might he have more time for on-camera confessionals? Only time will tell.
